Stretch marks (or striae) are flat, narrow streaks or lines on the skin that occur as a result of tearing or stretching of the second layer of the skin, known as the dermis. They are usually lighter in color than the surrounding skin or appear reddish, and can range in length from a few millimeters to several centimeters. Stretch marks can appear on various parts of the body, but are most commonly found on the abdomen, thighs, buttocks, breasts, and upper arms.
The main causes of stretch marks include skin stretching due to rapid weight gain. This can happen during pregnancy, adolescent growth spurts, or as a result of muscle expansion or the influence of hormones such as cortisol.
Although stretch marks do not pose a health risk, they can be cosmetically unpleasant for some people.
Treatment depends on the type, age, and severity of the stretch marks, as well as the patient’s individual characteristics. Creams, oils, and ointments cannot eliminate striae, but they may help prevent their formation. The most effective hardware-based treatments for stretch mark removal are laser resurfacing and treatment using the Bi-One® LifeTouchTherapy device.
Stretch mark removal with the Cutera laser (USA) is a procedure that uses laser radiation to reduce the appearance of stretch marks on the skin. The Cutera laser stimulates collagen production, which is essential for healthy, youthful skin. By boosting collagen synthesis, the treatment helps improve skin texture and reduce the visibility of stretch marks.
Key advantages of Cutera laser stretch mark removal include quick treatment time and minimal recovery.
The results of the procedure may vary depending on the type and age of the stretch marks, as well as the number of sessions performed.
Until recently, laser stretch mark removal was considered the most effective method of treatment. However, the BI-ONE® LifeTouchTherapy technology now stands out with significant advantages over traditional laser resurfacing.
BI-ONE® LifeTouchTherapy is a modern, non-invasive method for treating stretch marks without injections or laser-induced damage to the epidermis. This technology uses a specialized device that combines several elements: electromagnetic fields, electrical stimulation, and vacuum action. Results and patient feedback (based on a study of 917 patients with stretch marks: 100% reported no side effects after the procedure, 83% were extremely satisfied with the results, and the remaining 17% were simply satisfied) confirm that the synergy of electromagnetic fields and vacuum is both effective and safe for treating stretch marks. [1]
During the procedure, the device heats the treated skin area to a temperature of 39–40°C, which helps:
In addition, this technology can effectively deliver beneficial cosmetic products into the deep layers of the skin, enhancing their effects. BI-ONE® LifeTouchTherapy is a modern and non-surgical method of improving your skin’s health and appearance, which leads to noticeable results.
Stretch marks require 6 to 9 sessions to regenerate, rarely 12 for complex stretch marks or those that have already been affected by other procedures.

Under the influence of the device, the layers of the skin undergo reorganization, which restores the proper activity of melanocytes. Melanocytes are specialized cells located in the upper layer of the skin, hair, and eyes, and they are responsible for producing the pigment known as melanin. Melanin gives skin, hair, and eyes their natural pigmentation.
Exposure to the sun (or a tanning bed) stimulates melanin production in the skin, enabling it to tan. Just one tanning session is enough to restore the color of stretch marks or scars—after that, the tan fades from them just like from the surrounding skin. As a result, you achieve an even skin tone.
