Radiesse Volumizing
Radiesse dermal filler injections are facelift in just 20 minutes without surgery.

A drug for injectable cosmetology based on calcium hydroxyapatite. It provides non-surgical lifting with results lasting up to 2 years. The principle of Radiesse is simple: at first, the gel carrier acts as a filler, filling in large creases, volumes lost with age on the face (which makes it look tired), and lifts sagging tissue. Immediately after the injection of the drug, the lifting effect is manifested. After 2 months, macrophage cells (cells of the immune system) destroy the gel carrier. But during this time, the body itself forms a frame in the problem area from its own collagen, the synthesis of which is triggered by calcium ions, which are part of the drug.
Ca2+ and PO3- ions are natural building blocks of bones and teeth. They stimulate the synthesis of collagen and elastin by skin cells. A new dermal matrix is formed, due to which the skin becomes dense and flabbiness is eliminated. Due to the size of the calcium microspheres, the filler remains soft even after matrix formation and immediately after injection.
Radiesse Injection Procedure. The procedure is named for its lifting effect and the restoration of lost volume. A cosmetologist or plastic surgeon injects the product using a cannula in a fan-like technique, delivering the product through a single entry point to all required areas. Radiesse is composed of a gel carrier and calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA). All components are natural substances. Calcium stimulates collagen and elastin synthesis in the deeper layers of the skin.
Radiesse is a versatile product used to correct visible veins on the hands, rejuvenate sagging facial skin and soft tissue ptosis, and smooth deep nasolabial folds and the cheek area. Calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) delivers both a rejuvenating and lifting effect.
This German product has been used in Europe since 2003. Over the years, millions of women and men have benefited from it. In Ukraine, it is the only officially registered and approved filler based on calcium hydroxylapatite.
The product is recommended for correcting age-related changes in patients aged 30 to 55.
Radiesse is used to correct:
The temporal area: With age, soft tissues sag. Filler injections fill the hollows and stimulate collagen production.
The nasolabial triangle: Deep folds are instantly smoothed by the gel carrier, while collagen synthesis ensures a lasting result for 18–24 months [1].
The cheekbones, making them more defined and pronounced.
The jawline: Calcium ions form a new support framework for sagging jawlines, drooping facial contours, and the area of the double chin.
The nasal bridge and tip: Radiesse contouring can be an alternative to plastic surgery. Injections correct humps on the bridge and drooping tips. Unlike hyaluronic acid, which dissolves within 6 months, calcium-based fillers maintain their effect for up to 2 years [2].
Prominent veins on the hands: Radiesse fills tissue voids, evens out skin tone, restores youthful volume, improves skin density, and smooths fine wrinkles on the hands.
One of the advantages of contouring with calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA) is that the procedure can be combined with other rejuvenating treatments:
Altera hardware lifting (USA): The device’s applicator delivers ultrasound energy to the SMAS layer, lifting muscles and skin without surgery and preventing gravitational ptosis. Meanwhile, Radiesse effectively restores lost volume. Both procedures stimulate collagen production, improving skin firmness, tone, and reducing fine wrinkles. Additionally, Radiesse combined with ultrasound therapy works well for treating atrophic scars [3].
Botulinum toxin injections: Full facial rejuvenation through contouring is entirely possible. Radiesse injections restore volume and lift the mid and lower face, while Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin smooth out expression lines around the eyes and lips, as well as on the forehead and between the eyebrows. These injections can also lift the brows. Radiesse enhances cheekbones, reduces double chins, and makes the facial contour sharper and more defined.
Advantages of Radiesse Volumization
Safety: Radiesse is biodegradable and bioinert. It does not cause allergic reactions or tissue rejection. The treated areas remain soft and mobile after injection.
Precise filler placement: Radiesse does not migrate or shift from the injection site.
Long-lasting results: Even after calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA) is naturally eliminated from the body, the collagen dermal matrix remains at the site of injection.
Immediate effect: Thanks to the gel carrier, the lifting and volumizing result is visible right away.
Minimally invasive: Unlike traditional facelift surgery, Radiesse contouring leaves no scars or sutures, and requires no lengthy recovery. Moreover, since the filler is administered via a cannula, the risk of bruising is significantly reduced.
Compatibility with other rejuvenating procedures: In just one visit, a cosmetologist can address age-related changes and wrinkles across the face, neck, and décolleté.
Natural-looking results: Ideal for individuals prone to swelling. Radiesse does not attract water, unlike hyaluronic acid-based fillers, so there is no puffiness or overfilled appearance.
If the patient violates the rules for preparing for the manipulation or recommendations for the recovery period, bruising may appear at the injection site. This complication often occurs in smokers whose nicotine disrupts the normal functioning of blood vessels. Nicotine provokes vascular fragility. This is why such problems arise. However, the bruises disappear in a week.
