EYEBROW TRANSPLANTION

Eyebrows are one of the most important features that define the structure and balance of your face. That’s why eyebrow transplantation has become a very popular procedure, thanks to safe transplantation techniques and predictable results.

EYEBROW TRANSPLANTATION TECHNIQUES

FUT Method
First, the surgeon removes a strip of skin approximately 10 by 1 cm. It is then placed under microscopes, and a team of surgeons carefully divides it into tiny grafts of individual follicular units containing one to four hairs. These grafts are stored in a chilled tissue preservation solution until transplantation. The donor area is stitched up. After 10–14 days, the stitches are removed and the area heals, forming a linear scar. This scar is later covered by hair and becomes unnoticeable. [2]

FUE Method
In this method, each follicle is extracted individually. During an FUE procedure, the donor area of the scalp is shaved, and follicular unit grafts are extracted one by one using a special instrument—a micro-punch. The procedure can be performed manually (which increases graft safety) [3] or with a mechanized surgical device.

After FUE, a series of tiny dot-like scars remain on the skin, but they are so small that they are barely visible.

HOW IS EYEBROW TRANSPLANTATION PERFORMED IN KIEV AT ANACOSMA CLINIC?

1. Consultation
   Before the procedure, you’ll have a consultation where the doctor will examine you, help you choose the most suitable transplantation method, and determine the donor area from which follicles will be harvested. Hair grafts are usually taken from the back of the head (or, less commonly, from the area around the ear). The doctor will also order tests and help set a surgery date.
2. Surgery
   Eyebrow transplantation is typically done under local anesthesia, so you won’t feel anything during the procedure. Once the hair grafts are extracted, they are placed in a storage container with chilled saline solution for up to an hour before the surgeon implants them into your brows.
3. Recovery
   After the procedure, the transplanted area remains open, and scabs begin to form around the newly transplanted follicles. These scabs are a normal part of the healing process and should fall off within a few days. Minor bruising and swelling may occur in the area for up to five days. Usually, the doctor prescribes oral painkillers and antibiotics for five days after surgery.

WHEN WILL YOU SEE THE RESULTS?

The transplanted hairs will soon fall out—this is normal. Hair growth in the area should begin approximately three months after the procedure.
